This is burial ground of 12th century church, thought to be over the site of 7th century chapel dedicated to St. Finnbar, 6th c. Bishop of Cork in Ireland. Legend has it that he preached in Barra.
Here’s a prayer for his feast day, September 27:
God, who chose thy glorious servant Finnbar from out of his mother’s womb, and by the ministrations of angels raised him up,to the rank of priesthood: grant that we, who are bowed down by the burden of our guilt, may by his merits be raised up to the path of virtue, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
