It seems that immediately after taking this photo it began to rain. Not exactly; I probably had a good fifteen minutes, but then a drizzle and then more, and the next hour I got progressively more wet, as I stayed on the beach for a bit, hoping it would quit, then gave it up as a bad job and walked home. I felt almost like a native, walking in the rain so (almost) serenely.
We heard many comments about the weather in the last few months. One that sticks in my mind: “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes. It will change.” And another, heard waiting for a ferry: “Scotland is the only place you can experience four seasons in just one day.”
