Another meal last night at the Highland Cottage.

The book Scotland the Best rates this as best accommodation and eatery in Tobermory. It is the sole Inspector’s Choice (Red Star) hotel on Mull, and one of only 35 in Scotland.
One owner David serves as waiter, his wife Jo as cook. We had three course, fixed-price dinner with extras. The best lamb I’ve ever had, may not ever order it again… Mickey’s salmon was also wonderful. David told us that the name of their establishment was taken from his grandmother’s cottage of same name on the harbor road on Iona! He said he has wonderful memories of summer visits there. I will be staying one night with them on my way back to Iona, after leaving Mickey in the Glasgow airport on Tuesday.
