Jennifer Port, Clarsach (harp) player and singer

She performed at the parish church on Wednesday afternoon. Did classic Scottish tunes, also Moon River, Songbird, many beautiful pieces, had lovely voice as well.
She sent me her playlist. Do you know any of these?
Ballachullish Glen
My love is like a red red rose / Deil amang the tailors
Aye Waukin O
La Partida
Moon river
Highland Cathedral
Wild Mountain Thyme
Leaving Stoer
Summer Walkers
New Blues

She had us singing along at a couple of choruses. That’s her behind the harp, and the others who stayed to be interviewed about why they come and/or live here. A few are natives, and the woman in pink, Jane, started coming for holiday at age of ten, has been here about 24 summers. Rhoda, in front of her, grew up here, and there were three in her school on Iona. She had to go to mainland, to Oban, for high school.
Live Music Now Scotland is a registered charity, and the stories gathered will be used to compose a new suite of songs about the Hebrides to be premiered at the Luminate Festival 2013.
The two women at right brought their golf clubs and plan to play on the course here-18 holes but rough ground, full of sheep chips, and sheep also. An adventure, I would say.
