M.E. and I spent our first evening in Edinburgh here. Located at the gates of Edinburgh Castle, the Witchery takes its name from the hundreds of women burned at the stake in Castlehill in the 16-17th centuries. It is said that more witches were burned at stake during reign of James VI here than anywhere else in Scotland. Quite appetizing you say.
