Inside we had a four o’clock lunch. Some of the swimming class were there, and after they left I asked owner about them. Turns out her son is one of teachers, and the ones who were out the other day were studying rescue techniques, to be lifeguards. She says everyone takes lessons when young, some continue. She had nieces and nephews staying with her, maybe they come from other places to take lessons. They have to learn to swim with head out of water at all times, she said, so they can keep anyone in danger in sight. An important and necessary skill for a place surrounded by water.
